McNamara says one man in his 60s with critical injuries was sent to St. Michael’s Hospital and a woman in her 40s, also with critical injuries, was sent to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

The crash happened “upon landing,” according to a post from Toronto Pearson, “involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis.”

According to Flightradar24, the Delta Airlines flight from Minneapolis arrived at Pearson at 2:13 p.m. The plane, a Mitsubishi CRJ-900LR, has room for about 75 passengers.

On air traffic control archives accessed by the Star, an air traffic controller is heard describing the scene at Pearson. “Just so you’re aware, there are people outside walking around the aircraft there,” he says. “Yeah, we’ve got it,” another man responds. “The aircraft is upside down and burning.”

A post on X from Toronto Pearson confirmed that “All passengers and crew are accounted for.”
