Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has defended arrested Shatta Movement fan, WebkidAfrika, insisting that he was fighting for Shatta Movement despite facing charges over alleged false publications targeting Stonebwoy and his family.
During a TikTok live session on May 11, 2026, Shatta Wale said if the blogger is released from remand, he will be treated as a hero and even added to his Shatta Movement team.
“If you like, keep the boy. Chew him. If Webkid returns, he comes back as a hero. He tried, he fought for Shatta Movement. You made him a star, if you don’t know. If Webkid comes back, I will make him join my Shatta Wale and be working. He go dey chop money. What do you think you have done? You have made him a superstar,” Shatta said.
Here are the charges against blogger for posts targeting Stonebwoy
Shatta Wale further insisted that the allegations made by WebkidAfrika were not false, claiming his rival Stonebwoy had a sexual encounter with Abena Korkor.
He argued that Abena Korkor herself had publicly confirmed the matter.
Shatta added that Abena Korkor was not “dumb” to mention names, stressing that some entertainment industry players had taken advantage of her.
Background
“WebkidAfrika”, identified in court documents as Abdul Gafaru Sadi, a staunch supporter of Shatta Movement, has been arraigned before court over allegations of publication of false news and offensive conduct said to be directed at musician Stonebwoy and his family.
The statement of offence indicates that on or about 11 November 2024 in Accra, the accused intentionally sent a communication online which allegedly endangered the safety of Stonebwoy and his family.
The charges are being brought under Section 76 of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775), which deals with publication of false news.
In a second count, WebkidAfrika is facing charges of offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
Among the posts cited in court documents were statements such as “Married this thing but had the nerve to call Shatta Wale’s wife prostitute,” “Stonebwoy you are mad,” and “Daddy once took advantage of Abena Korkor!!! Stonebwoy is evil.”
Prosecutors argue that the coordinated nature of the publications created tension and amounted to conduct likely to disturb public peace.
WebkidAfrika was arrested on 7 May 2026 as part of ongoing investigations.
