Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson Eshun has issued a public apology after his prophetic declaration that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong would win the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries failed to materialize.
In a statement shared with the public, the Spiritlife Revival Ministries founder acknowledged his prophecy did not come to pass and took full responsibility for the inaccurate prediction. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia secured victory in Friday’s primaries to become the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
“I wish to address the inaccurate prophetic declarations I made concerning the New Patriotic Party presidential primaries,” Prophet ElBernard stated. “Through a book, videos, and media interviews, I stated that Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong would win the primaries and become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party.”
He continued, “That word did not come to pass. I missed it. I was wrong. I am deeply sorry, and I ask for your forgiveness.”
The prophet acknowledged his words likely impacted people who trusted his declaration. Speaking with what he described as prophetic authority, many followers believed his message and made decisions based on the prophecy.
“Because I spoke publicly with prophetic authority, many people trusted my word, and some were affected emotionally, spiritually, and politically. I acknowledge this with humility,” he said.
Prophet ElBernard took complete responsibility for the prophecy and apologized to everyone who trusted his word. He expressed particular regret toward individuals who suffered disappointment or made decisions based on what he declared.
“I take full responsibility for this prophetic word. I sincerely apologize to everyone who trusted my word and was hurt, disappointed, or negatively impacted in any way. I am especially sorry to those who made decisions based on what I declared,” he stated.
The prophet stressed he does not blame anyone else for the outcome and accepted accountability for the failed prophecy without shifting responsibility. He described the experience as a moment requiring reflection and realignment.
“I do not blame anyone or shift responsibility. I accept that this prophecy, as declared, failed,” he said.
Reflecting on the situation, Prophet ElBernard indicated the moment caused him to pause and reconsider how prophetic revelations should be communicated. He pledged commitment to integrity, growth, and truth moving forward.
“This moment has caused me to pause, reflect, and realign myself in accountability and discernment regarding how prophetic revelations are communicated. I remain committed to integrity, growth, and truth,” he added.
He concluded his apology by addressing disappointed believers directly and expressing gratitude to those who corrected him. He acknowledged that his failed prophecy may have affected people’s faith in hearing from God.
“To all who were disappointed or hurt, I humbly ask for your forgiveness. To believers in Ghana and around the world who felt disappointed or wounded, I sincerely ask for your forgiveness,” he said.

Prophet ElBernard added, “I offer my apology to any believer in whom my actions may have sown doubt regarding the voice of God and His ability to speak to His people. I am grateful to those who have corrected me and continue to pray for me.”
The prophet had made bold declarations about Agyapong’s prospects in recent months. Speaking on Asempa Radio on January 26, he insisted Kennedy Agyapong would emerge victorious and lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
“I am putting my ministry, my calling, and my 18 years of pastoring on the line. There is nothing like ‘if’ when God speaks. I am definite that Kennedy Agyapong has won,” he stated days before the vote.
Prophet ElBernard authored a book about Kennedy Agyapong in March 2025, released in May, describing the Assin Central MP as “the shock to the system and the flagbearer the NPP never expected.” He claimed the prophecy came through spiritual encounters pointing to Agyapong as the eventual winner.
The prophet faced criticism and controversy before the primaries. Bono Regional NPP Chairman Abronye DC alleged Prophet ElBernard accepted payment to campaign for Agyapong, accusations the prophet vehemently denied.
“I am not cheap like that. I am not a cheap prophet,” Prophet ElBernard told Asempa Radio on January 27, responding to the allegations. He maintained his prophecy stemmed from genuine spiritual revelation rather than political motivation.
His apology comes hours after NPP primaries results showed Bawumia securing a commanding lead across most regions. The outcome contradicted Prophet ElBernard’s repeated assertions that divine revelation assured Agyapong’s victory.
