Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, known in private life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has issued a stern warning to the Ghana Police Service following the arrest of an X user identified as Webkid.
In a post shared on X on May 8, 2026, Shatta Wale stated that he and his fans would not hesitate to stage a protest on the streets of Accra if Webkid is not released.
According to the musician, members of the Shatta Movement should wait for his signal before taking to the streets.
He further stated that it was time for him and the Shatta Movement to demonstrate to certain individuals and the police that discipline is power.
“If dem no release Webkid, we go enter street erh? Shatta Movement disciples, wait for my signal… It’s about time we show certain people what discipline is…” he wrote.

Meanwhile, according to reports circulating online, Webkid, who is believed to be a staunch fan of Shatta Wale, was arrested by the Ghana Police Service over allegations of cyberbullying.
Reports sighted by GhanaWeb further indicated that the arrest was allegedly initiated following complaints by Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, after the social media user reportedly made repeated defamatory remarks about his wife and family.
Webkid is currently being held at the Osu Police Station.
