‘The devil used bloggers to push me towards suicide’ – Florence Obinim

Gospel musician Florence Obinim has asserted that bloggers were used by the devil to attack her reputation, damage her career, and nearly push her into committing suicide.

In an interview on Max TV on May 7, 2026, the gospel singer explained that because she had been away from the gospel scene for some time and was no longer in the public eye, her initial plan was to relaunch her career in early 2026.

However, in 2025, some of her close associates invited her to highlife legend Dada KD’s funeral, which took place in September 2025.

She said that when she attended the funeral, bloggers took photos and videos of her and allegedly edited them with AI to make it appear as though she had undergone facial surgery, leading to heavy trolling on social media.

According to her, before releasing any of her songs, she goes to the mountains to pray. There, she said she met a pastor who prophesied that major false allegations would be levelled against her in Ghana through AI.

She said the pastor explained that the attacks were intended to push her into taking her own life.

Florence Obinim added that what the pastor told her on the mountains confirmed a similar prophecy her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, had given her in early January 2026.

She said she initially took her husband’s words lightly until the pastor repeated the same prophecy, making it the second warning she had received about her downfall.

“On January 1, 2026, my husband told me he had seen that some Ghanaians would level false accusations against me and that if I didn’t handle it well, it could even lead to death. But I took what he said lightly,” she said.

Florence Obinim believes the devil did not want her to return to the music industry, which is why, according to her, AI was used through human beings to disgrace her.

When asked whether she believed the attacks were coming from some of her competitors in the gospel music industry, she said she does not think any gospel musician would spiritually attack her.

She further noted that bloggers, who are driven by views and earnings on social media, were used because they are often drawn to controversial stories.

She added that when someone is drawn to a particular thing, the devil can use that person to achieve a specific goal.

“I believe no gospel musician would do such a thing, so I would say it is the devil. It is the bloggers who are looking to make money from YouTube and other social media platforms because they enjoy such things. When the devil sees that you like something, he puts it in your heart so you do it on his behalf,” she stated.
